patchouli Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Shop”) sets the following Protection of Personal Information Policy, to comply with the Japan Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other Guidelines, when handling the client’s Personal Information collected by the Shop.

The Privacy Policy is applied to the Shop only.

 

Article1, Privacy Policy

Personal Information refers to Personal Information defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Specifically, it is Information regarding living individuals that can identify an individual, such as name, date of birth or contacting address, as well as other information that, combined with other information, can be used to identify an individual. 

 

Article 2, Acquisition of Personal Information

The Shop may ask the client to provide the following Personal Information through client’s orders and inquiries:

1. Name

2. Date of birth

3. Address

4. Telephone number

5. E-mail address

6. Password

7. Bank account, Credit card number

8. Transaction history and details with the Shop

In the event that the Shop acquires and keeps the Personal Information provided by the client, the Shop clearly specifies the purpose of the use of it and shall acquire the Personal Information in a lawful and appropriate manner.

 

Article 3, Purpose of use of Personal Information

The Shop uses the Personal Information provided by the client for the following purposes only:

1. Confirmation and reference of orders

2. Confirmation and reference of product shipment

3. Responding to inquiries

 

Article 4, Revision of use of Personal Information

The Shop may change the purpose of use of Personal Information if a connection with the purpose of use prior to the change can be reasonably recognized.
When the purpose of use is changed, the Shop will notify the client or announces the changes and purposes on the Shop website.

 

Article 5, Prohibiting Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Shop is committed to manage the Personal Information provided by the client properly, and the Shop will not disclose Personal Information to any third parties except in the conditions stated below:

1. When the client approves;

2. When disclosure is necessary for the preservation of life, body or property, in such a situation where it is difficult to obtain the client’s consent;

3. When the Shop needs to acquire the Personal Information specifically for the purpose of improving public health or promoting the sound growth and development of children in such a situation where it is difficult to obtain the client’s consent;

4. When the national government or a local public body requests, and disclosure is required by applicable law or regulations;

5. When Personal Information is required by the Shop’s subcontractor to perform the service requested by the client;

6. When the business is succeeded due to a merger or on other grounds

 

Article 6, Disclosure of Personal Information

If a client requests the Shop to disclose his/her Personal Information, the Shop will disclose the requested information to the client without delay after confirming the request has been made by the client himself/herself. However, the foregoing will not apply for the following cases. The shop will notify the client promptly if the disclosure request is not accepted. 

1. If there is a possibility of damaging life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the client or any third party;

2. If there is a possibility of significantly interfering with proper operation of our business; 

3. If it may violate other laws or regulations

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in principle, information other than Personal Information, such as history information and characteristic information will not be disclosed.

 

Article 7, Correction, Deletion of Personal Information

Clients can request correction, addition or deletion of contents when the provided Personal Information is inaccurate. 

If you have any requests, please contact the Shop as stated in Article 10.

The Shop will make any necessary corrections of the Personal Information after deciding that the Shop should comply with the client’s request. The Shop will notify the client when the content is corrected. The Shop will also notify when it is decided not to be corrected.

 

Article 8, Safety Measures of Personal Information

The Shop maintains the client’s Personal Information accurately and keeps it updated. The Shop takes all possible security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, damage, manipulation, and leak of Personal Information.

 

Article 9, Compliance with Rules and Regulations and Revision of the Privacy Policy

The Shop, when handling the client’s Personal Information, complies with the laws of Japan and other applicable regulations. The shop strives to review and improve the Privacy Policy on a regular basis. Revision on this page will act as official announcement.
